The partnership marks a significant milestone in the advancement of robotics technology and its integration into the logistics sector.


First Human-centric, Multi-purpose Robot - Digit

Digit, hailed as the first human-centric, multi-purpose robot tailored for logistics work, will undergo testing at Amazon's robotics research and development facility near Seattle. This development represents a deepening of the relationship between Agility Robotics and Amazon, with Agility already being part of the Amazon Industrial Innovation Fund.


Digit's Capabilities 

What sets Digit apart is its ability to move, grasp, and handle items in warehouses with unparalleled dexterity. Its design, optimized for human-centric environments, enables it to navigate spaces and corners typically designed for humans. 


Both Agility Robotics and Amazon see immense potential in scaling up the use of Digit, envisioning it as a collaborative tool that enhances workplace safety and efficiency.


The Tasks Digit Shall Perform for Amazon

Amazon's initial application of Digit will focus on tote recycling, streamlining the repetitive process of moving empty totes once inventory has been depleted. This deployment aligns with Agility Robotics' vision of creating robots that make workplace tasks safer and less repetitive. Damion Shelton, co-founder, and CEO of Agility Robotics, emphasizes the importance of empowering human workers through technology, rather than replacing them.
